For as long as cops have existed, they have served to protect the pillars of capitalism, from colonial plunder to worker discipline to private property. Yet across geographies and generations, the people have resisted, challenging police power in liberation struggles the world over, from the streets of Minneapolis to Mexico City, from Cairo to London.

Exploring the origins of the institution of policing and its significance to capitalism today, this discussion will look at the promises of revolutionary abolitionism in breaking from this system, and the methods and strategies of resistance in practice in communities around the world today.
