Sojourners for Justice

Big news! We're honored to be working with Mariame Kaba and Neta Bomani to bring Sojourners for Justice into the world!

Sojourners for Justice Press (SJP)—founded by Kaba and co-directed by Bomani—is a micro press that opens its platform to people working experimentally with print based media, publishing short form and ephemeral zines, pamphlets, and booklets that engage do-it-yourself, black feminist, and abolitionist philosophies.

SJP is an imprint of Haymarket Books, operating independently in terms of its editorial content and decisions.

Recent releases from SJP include:

Consider making a one time or recurring donation to SJP to receive access to exclusive newsletters, perks, raffle prizes, discounts, and more—and rest assured that your support of SJP means:

  • Competitive and fair wages for Black publishers, designers, editors, and printmakers;
  • The continued publication of Black people who are currently and formerly criminalized; queer, trans, and gender non-conforming; disabled; from low-income backgrounds; from non-traditional educational backgrounds; and who have been historically excluded in their respective crafts and industries;
  • The ongoing centering of under-told stories about Black women and gender non-conforming people.
