The 2024 Paris Olympics are set to take place this July and August. As Israel’s genocide of Palestinians rages on, hear from athletes and activists about the campaign to ban Israel from the Olympics, the conditions of Palestinian athletes trying to train to reach their dreams in the midst of a genocide, and ways that athletes globally are showing solidarity. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Speakers: Hanna Barakat is a Palestinian sprinter who competed for Palestine at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Jules Boykoff is a professor at Pacific University, an international expert in sports politics and author of 6 books on the Olympic Games, and retired professional soccer player. Jesse Joseph is a competitive marathoner who staged a protest for Palestine during the US Olympic Trials, and an activist with the Democratic Socialists of America.
